Assistant Equipment Manager
The Assistant Equipment Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of equipment acquisition, maintenance and operation for Alpha Inc. This position will also coordinate between the field and office staff to ensure proper purchasing, maintenance and use of all types of construction equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide coordination of equipment maintenance and readiness to meet specific project and organizational needs.

Administer the scheduling, maintenance, repair and utilization of equipment to ensure company standards.
-
Provide assistance with purchase, rental and lease options of new and used equipment and vehicles.
-
Conduct equipment purchase versus rent analysis.
-
Coordinate the transportation and scheduling of equipment for inter-island projects.
-
Equipment reporting and tracking including utilization, hour meters, mileage and similar.
-
Manage and direct effective equipment safety programs and equipment utilization to ensure safety and budget goals are met.
-
Assist management team with final equipment budgets and potential equipment purchases in order to meet budgetary goals.
-
Work order management.
-
Invoice reconciliation.
-
Assist with the marketing of equipment and vehicles.
-
Equipment insurance coordination and claims management & support.
-
Responsible for licensing, permitting, registration and titling of all equipment and vehicles.
-
Work closely with field construction personnel.

Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for handling administrative and office support tasks and managing multiple responsibilities in the organization. The position will be directly working with office and field staff to ensure all administrative tasks are efficiently and effectively implemented.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform general administrative/clerical tasks including answering and transferring telephone calls, checking voicemail daily, faxing, mailing, filing and photocopying.
• Order, purchase and maintain inventory for uniforms, office and cleaning supplies.
• Prepare a daily task list for all responsibilities at hand- errands, mail run, bank deposits, document signatures, etc.
• Create and maintain on-boarding and separation checklists, assist in the on-boarding and separation processes of employee equipment and setup/disablement– i.e. phones, computer, ID/passwords, email, dropbox, proprietary access, alarm codes, printer, etc.
• Develop, implement and improve office policies and procedures.
• Arrange travel by booking accommodations such as flights, cars, hotel and/or any other reservations as required.
• Review, input and maintain time sheets on a weekly basis.
• Assist in the completion of water well drilling reports and job specific binder assembly.
• Coordinate special events as necessary - i.e. quarterly and monthly staff meetings.
• Administer, follow up and communicate with department managers and/or employees on upcoming events, action items, weekly reminders and all other occurrences.
• Manage phone and printer systems.
• Assist in managing the Apprenticeship Program.
• Manage and keep track of furniture, accessories, equipment and tool warranties and protection plans.
• Administer and track office equipment and accessories and obtain all signed acknowledgements – i.e. fuel cards, credit cards, Ipads, Iphones, keys, alarms, etc.
• Create and validate project proposals.
• Develop and maintain filing system for project and job files.
• Maintain vendor relations – i.e Verizon, NAPA, etc.
• Manage fleet registration, safety inspections, and DOT heavy USE tax for equipment
• Maintain calendars and schedule conference rooms.
• Organize and maintain office common areas – i.e. make coffee, wash dishes, empty trash.
• Possess superior organizational skills, dedication and follow up to complete projects as needed in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Heavy Equipment Operator
The Heavy Equipment Operator drives and/or controls construction equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, blades, rock trucks, graders, etc. in a safe and efficient manner. The Heavy Equipment Operator ensures that the machinery being used is in good working order and follows all relevant procedures and protocols while using it.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures.

Works with and assists the line crew in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with a backhoe, front-end loader, excavators
-
Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
-
Ensures company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
-
Inspect heavy equipment/machinery for safe day-to-day operation.
-
Knowledge with utility excavation and mass excavation.
-
Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times, including fellow employees and visible and non-visible hazards such as elevation changes, street crossings, and underground utilities.
-
Moves, loads, and spreads materials throughout project site utilizing mechanized equipment; unload pipes, pallets, and other materials.
-
Knowledge in not to exceed equipment limitations such as capacity and capability.
-
Provide direction to employee(s) assisting with installation.
-
Encourage workplace safety and environmental practices improvement.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Understand different hand signals used to signal operators of construction machinery.

Knowledge of construction tasks and execution sequencing.

Must have a valid Hawaii Driver’s License and access to an insured vehicle.

Must have a clean driving record.

Must be able to physically lift and carry 100 lbs.

Must be able to climb on, off, and under various pieces of equipment, and physically access all parts of equipment to perform job requirements.

Must be able to bend/kneel/stand/walk.

Must be able to push/pull as required when operating hand controls.

Class A Truck Driver - Part Time
The Class A Truck Driver will operate a tractor trailer on a Part Time basis. Hours of operation are Saturday's from 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fully understand how to operate and safely drive the assigned tractor trailer.

Drive tractor trailer to assigned locations and safely maneuver tractor trailer into loading or unloading positions in compliance with Company guidelines.

Pull a towed weight exceeding 100,000 lbs.
-
Ensure trailer hitch is properly and securely attached to tractor unit.
-
Stay on predetermined route and ensure timely deliveries.
-
Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
-
Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
-
Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
-
Adhere to company policies, rules and regulations.
-
Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions.
-
Comply with DOT regulations.
-
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the inside and outside of the vehicle.

Treat all customers with courtesy and respect.

Promote and provide a positive company image.

Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
